This typical Mediterranean village is the largest place on all of the Zadar islands and one of the most popular fishermen's villages on the Adriatic. Its specific atmosphere is created by numerous fishermen's boats docked in the harbour. The traditional Kali Fishermen's Night is held in August.

KALI, a village and harbour on the south-eastern coast of the island of Ugljan, 3 km southeast of Preko; population 2,245. Economy is based on farming, viticulture, olive growing, fishing and seafaring. A local road connects the village with the opposite side of the island; there are two pebble coves (Lamjana Vela and Lamjana Mala), separated by a small peninsula. In front of the coast is the islet of Osljak. Smaller yachts may dock in the harbour, along the breakwater. Kali is located on the regional road running along the entire island.

The village was first mentioned in 1343. In 1698 the Baroque church replaced an earlier structure. On the hill above the village is a small church of St. Peregrine from the 14th century.
