Loviste is a peaceful and quiet tourist resort. The entire village is a big beach, with numerous fruitful gardens and its own fleet of fishing boats, which provide a constant excellent offer of fresh fish and other seafood. Here is also the largest Croatian processing plant for drying of figs and carobs. Visitors will especially enjoy bathing in the cove of Mirca with the white sand bottom.

LOVISTE, a village on the southern coast of the cove of Luka, in the extreme north-western part of the Peljesac Peninsula; population 242. Chief occupations are farming, viticulture, fruit growing, fishing and tourism. In the vicinity of Loviste are numerous small coves (Przna, Cesminova, Krizica, Rasoha, Bezdija) with beaches. In the northern part of the cove of Luka is the hamlet of Mirce; the cove is a well protected pier for yachts.

In Roman times it was a port on the maritime communication Corcyra nigra (Korcula) - Narona (Vid near Metkovic); traces of a Roman villa rustica have also been found. There is also the church of the Heart of Mary from 1885.
